As part of the ongoing activities of the DigiFLEd project, colleagues from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth delivered two engaging webinars organised by the Centre for Teaching and Learning. The sessions brought together teachers, researchers, students and project partners interested in exploring innovative approaches to digital teaching and learning.
On 12 February 2026, Patrick Fitzgerald, Learning Technologist at Maynooth University, introduced participants to the pedagogical use of screen-capture technology for creating effective digital learning materials. During the session, he demonstrated how tools such as ScreenPal can be used to record instructional videos, combine screen recording with narration and webcam input, and enhance learning through captions, annotations, and visual cues. The webinar also highlighted practical strategies for planning, recording, and editing educational videos that support student engagement and autonomous learning.

Another webinar took place on 26 February 2026, focusing on live polling and classroom interaction using Vevox. The session was delivered by Kathleen Levacher, Learning Technologist at Maynooth University, who shared practical insights into using Vevox to enhance student participation in both online and face-to-face learning environments. Participants explored real-time polling, anonymous feedback tools, word clouds, quizzes, and Q&A sessions, discovering how these features can create more interactive and inclusive learning experiences.

Together, the webinars provided valuable insights into modern digital teaching tools and offered DigiFLEd partners new ideas for enhancing student engagement and developing innovative learning environments.
