This year, the European partners of the DigiFLEd project are expanding the format of collaboration and launching a series of thematic webinars for the academic community. One of these upcoming events is an engaging webinar organised by the University of Western Macedonia, focusing on the integration of audio tools into interactive language teaching.
On January 27, 2026, language teachers, researchers, and digital teaching practitioners are invited to explore how audio-based digital tools can be meaningfully embedded into language courses to support speaking-oriented learning and active student engagement.
The webinar builds on participants’ basic familiarity with tools such as Vocaroo, Play.HT, VoiceThread, and Canva, demonstrating how audio can move beyond a supplementary role and become a core element of multimodal, interactive lesson design. Participants will discover how audio-embedding features of digital platforms can be used to create rich learning environments that promote creativity, interaction, and meaningful language use.
Special emphasis will be placed on designing activities that foster oral communication and speaking skills, while also supporting listening, reading, and writing in a balanced and integrated way. Through practical examples and classroom-oriented scenarios, the session will illustrate how audio tools can enhance learner participation and transform digital lessons into spaces of genuine communication.
The webinar will be delivered by Asst. Prof. Anastasia Yannacopoulou and PhD researcher Chrysanthi Markou, whose work combines applied linguistics, digital media, and innovative approaches to language education.
