Advancing Academic Writing: Piloting the E-Course ‘Writing for Research Publication Purposes’

by DigiFLEd | Feb 14, 2026 | News | 0 comments

The pilot phase of the e-course “Writing for Research Publication Purposes” was launched on 9 February 2026 on the Moodle platform at Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding.

The course was developed within the DigiFLEd project by teams from seven Ukrainian universities, under the academic supervision of Tampere University. The DigiFLEd team at Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding coordinates and leads the course development process.

Prior to the launch of the pilot phase, a coordination meeting was held with participating students. During this session, the course objectives, learning tasks, overall structure, module design logic, and navigation principles within the Moodle environment were presented and discussed. Participants were also provided with detailed information on the learning format, assessment criteria, and expected learning outcomes.

The course brings together Bachelor’s and Master’s students, as well as early-career researchers, who aim to strengthen their academic writing skills in English and prepare for publication in international scientific journals. It combines theoretical foundations of academic writing with practical, application-oriented tasks, placing particular emphasis on digital tools and contemporary academic publishing practices.

All learning activities are designed to support autonomous learning and self-assessment, enabling participants to systematically develop their academic writing competence in a digital learning environment.

The pilot implementation of this course represents an important step in testing and refining innovative digital approaches to academic writing instruction within the DigiFLEd project framework.
